Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.
The first step in our process at Darby is to schedule an appointment to meet with Ali. You’ll have the opportunity to chat about the custom garments you’d like to have made and the details of those pieces. Ali will get to know you and, with her expertise, will be able to help determine which styles and colors will work best for you.
01
Design your new garments by selecting fabrics and details from the finest mills around the world. Whether you want to choose everything from the lining, to button color, to stitching or you would prefer we take the reigns and help make you look great, you can be as involved as you want in the design process.
02
At Darby, we take 26 different measurements including posture and shoulder slope readings to ensure pieces fit correctly and comfortably. We suggest that you wear some of your favorite fitting clothing for the appointment so when we design your specific items, we have an idea of what fit you feel most comfortable in. Our ultimate goal is to create a suitable wardrobe that you feel great in, and it starts with being as exact as we can in our measurements and better understanding how you like your clothes to fit and feel.
03
In approximately 5 to 6 weeks your clothing will be ready for you to try on and ensure all aspects of it are to your liking. If needed, we're happy to make slight adjustments with our tailor and update your pattern on file so that the next time you come in to craft new pieces for your wardrobe, you will only need to choose fabrics. Pretty easy, right? From here, all that is left to do is for you to look dapper in your new threads and feel confident that you’re presenting your best self to the world.
04
From casual wear to formal wear, Darby is here to listen to your sartorial needs, share our expert advice, and deliver a unique custom product because nothing feels better than waking up and putting on clothing made specifically for you.
Our clients have expressed that they feel more confident, stylish and pulled together which in turn makes for a great start to their day with one less decision needing to be made to look good and feel good.
We offer a wide range of price points sure to fit your needs, whatever they are. Price will primarily depend on which fabric you end up choosing. All other details besides the fabric are included in the price. We'll make sure to find something that aligns with your style goals and your wallet.
How much does a custom suit cost?
Of course! We are able to make sport coats, deconstructed cotton jackets (otherwise known as ‘swackets’), cotton chinos, tuxedos, top coats, car coats, pea coats, and short sleeved shirts.
Does Darby make clothing other than suits and shirts?
Our garments generally take 4-6 weeks to create depending on what we're making for you and which fabric you choose. For important events like weddings, we would recommend planning further ahead with an estimated time closer to 12 weeks.
How long does it take to create custom clothing?
No, you do not as all details and alterations are included in the custom clothing cost. However, we are not able to cover alteration costs due to significant weight gain or loss, so let us know if you’re anticipating gaining/losing weight as a part of a diet or exercise regimen and we’re happy to work with you!
Do I pay for alterations?
We recommend dry cleaning your suits and/or jackets no more than a few times a year depending on how often you are wearing them. The beauty of wool is that if you hang it up the garment will air out on its own. This will help extend the life of the garment as the more chemicals used the shorter the life of any fabric. Always dry clean suit jackets and pants together to avoid color variation. Shirts are best laundered and hand-pressed at a dry cleaner to avoid added chemicals as well as the risk of machine pressing crushing buttons.
How should I care for my garments?
As every garment we make is custom made for each client, we are unable to offer returns. In the rare case that you are not satisfied with your order, we will work with you to ensure that your order always exceeds your expectations.
What is your return policy?
We would love to chat with you regarding your wardrobe. If you would, please complete the contact form and we will be in touch with you to schedule an appointment to sit down and discuss your needs. We are also happy to answer any questions you may have about our process.
